MARQUETTE - A Marquette woman who became lost after shooting a deer in Wells Township was rescued Friday with the aid of Marquette County deputies.

Deputies from Search and Rescue were dispatched shortly after 5:30 p.m., approximately a half-mile south of County Road 426 near the Knotty Pine Bar.

Karen Babcock, 61, shot a deer near dark and became lost after tracking it. She called 911.
