MARQUETTE - A Marquette woman who became lost after shooting a deer in Wells Township was rescued Friday with the aid of Marquette County deputies.
Deputies from Search and Rescue were dispatched shortly after 5:30 p.m., approximately a half-mile south of County Road 426 near the Knotty Pine Bar.
Karen Babcock, 61, shot a deer near dark and became lost after tracking it. She called 911.
Central Dispatch was able to get a GPS coordinate from the call and the information was relayed to deputies who in turn were able to locate Babcock.
She was guided back to her vehicle without incident.
