Trudy Lehtinen

IRON MOUNTAIN - Trudy Ione Lehtinen (nee Anderson/Turn) died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain.

She was born on March 19, 1939, in Kennedy, Minn., at the home of her grandparents, Otto and Tilda Anderson, to Inez Anderson Turn. Trudy was raised by her grandparents and loved them very much.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Trudy had graduated from Karlstad High School in 1957 in Karlstad, Minn., and furthered her education at a local vocational school.

She worked as a LPN in several clinics and hospitals.

Trudy married Rayno Lehtinen on July 30, 1960, in Thief River Falls, Minn. Rayno served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, with Trudy at his side. Together, they loved the military life and raised three children. After retirement, the couple moved to Kingsford.

Trudy was a wonderful wife, mom, and Grama. She loved her family with all her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Rayno Lehtinen of Kingsford; one son, Jon (Rhonda) Lehtinen of Sykesville, Md.; two daughters, Tracy Lehtinen and Vicky (Matt) Lehtinen Temple, both of Kingsford; two grandchildren, Osten Temple and Carly Temple; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Trudy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Otto and Tilda Anderson; and her mother, Inez Anderson Turn.

In accordance with Trudy's wishes, funeral services will not be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Lung Association.
