MANISTIQUE - Kingsford's boys and girls swimmers chalked victories over Manistique here Wednesday, with the boys earning a 120-54 decision and the girls coming out on top 97-80.
Kingsford hit the pool hard and fast, according to coach Keith Freeman, taking first in 16-of-24 events.
"The score is misleading as to the talent that the Emeralds had to offer," Freeman said. "Their swimmers took a lot of second and third places in the meet, but they were out-pointed by our size and talents."

Kingsford swam unchallenged in both the boys and girls 100 yard butterfly, adding an easy 13 points for both teams.
Manistique's pool lacks starting blocks, which means swimmers typically add time to their races. Even with the disadvantage, there wee several Flivvers with time improvements.
"These improvements are a testament to the time and effort that the swimmers have been putting in this season," Freeman said.
Kingsford continues to practice over Christmas break including a New Year's Eve practice as they prepare for their next meet on Thursday, Jan. 3, when they host Manistique, Gladstone and Hancock.
