IRON MOUNTAIN - A Niagara, Wis., man was seriously injured in a snowmobile accident Wednesday.

Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain post were dispatched to a crash involving a snowmobile at approximately 1:45 p.m. at a trail section parallel to Lake Antoine Road between Upper Pine Creek Road and the Indiana Mine Road.

Jacob London, 23, of Niagara was the only one of a group of four involved in the crash.

Troopers said it appears that speed was a factor and that London may have hit a rock, causing him to lose control and fall off his machine.

London impacted a tree at the edge of the trail and was seriously injured, troopers said.

He was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital and later sent to the St. Vincent Trauma Center in Green Bay, Wis.

Assisting troopers at the scene were Beacon ambulance, the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office and Brian's Towing.

Breitung Township Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
