IRON MOUNTAIN - Jaclyn Wisette of Amberg, Wis. and Chad Olson of Iron Mountain are the proud parents of the first baby born at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in 2013.

Veronica Wisette-Olson was born at 4:55 a.m. today. She weighed seven pounds, seven ounces.

"I didn't think we'd have the first baby," said Wisette. "She wasn't due until Jan. 7."

Wisette said that she did have a c-section planned for today, but Veronica decided to arrive on her own a few hours early.

"We're very excited and happy she came a little earlier," she added.

Veronica is Wisette's first child, and Olson's second child. Olson also has a seven-year-old son, Zach.

Grandparents are Christine and Randy Backhaus and Jacqueline and Eric Wisette, all of Amberg.
