Justin Christopher Farrsiar, 34, and Tammy Rae Korpela, 27, were arraigned on five felony charges, including operating a meth lab in the presence of a minor and operating a meth lab near a school or church. All five counts carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

The arrests were made after officers from the Ironwood Public Safety Department, Gogebic Iron Area Narcotics Team and the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team executed several search warrants at different locations in Ironwood.

Police said they believe the fire at 131 S. Mansfield St. in Ironwood was caused by an active meth lab.

Bond for Farrsiar and Korpela was set at $50,000 each and both are lodged at the Gogebic County Jail.
