HERMANSVILLE - Austin Matthew Wells, 10, of Hermansville, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital in Madison, Wis. due to ongoing health complications.
He was born on June 25, 2002, in Green Bay, Wis., the son of Matthew and Crystal (Algoe) Wells.
Austin was currently a third-grader at North Central Elementary School. He was interested in anything new and exciting, but especially loved playing video games with his little brother, Tanner.
He also enjoyed being in the kitchen with his mother and said he would like to be a chef someday. Austin was always concerned about others, and put everyone else's concerns before his own. Above all, Austin will be remembered for his big smile and always laughing.
He is survived by his loving parents, Matthew and Crystal (Algoe) Wells; little brother, Tanner Wells; paternal grandparents, Dan (Dawn) Wells; maternal grandfather, Dan Linder; maternal grandmother, Vicki Harris; nana, Sheri Quick; maternal great-grandmother, Marian (Harley Barribeau) Linder; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Central time on Friday at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Austin Wells will be at 6 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Page officiating. A luncheon will follow services in the St. John Neumann parish hall in Spalding.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Austin Wells name and his family will direct them to either American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, or the University of Michigan Transplant Center, Camp Michitanki.
