IRON MOUNTAIN - Iron Mountain and Kingsford finished varsity runners-up in the Mountaineer Invitational cheerleading meet.
Escanaba topped Kingsford, 705.34 to 672.86, in Division 2-3. Munising got past Iron Mountain, 704.02 to 688.74, in Division 4. Norway was third in Division 4.
"We improved our scores in all three rounds in comparison to our last meet, which is key for us," Flivver coach Sara Pericolosi said. "We're hoping to continue this trend as we compete in the Marquette Classic."

Area teams will begin the Marquette Classic at 11 a.m. (Central time) Saturday.
