Anything goes

January 10, 2013
The Daily News

EDITOR:

I can't speak for all the Bible-thumping, gun-toting, freedom lovers out there, but I have idea to put on the table. If you want to deter violent criminals, why not try this?

What I am about to say is probably going to sound extreme. I have never claimed to be anything but extreme.

How about repealing all the laws regarding "excessive force?" I'll give you an example of what I mean.

Let's say that Mr. Gangster Thug Wannabe decides that he's going to murder somebody. He goes looking for his victim and eventually finds that person. He makes the confrontation, things escalate, and goes for his weapon.

Let's also say that the would-be-victim also has a weapon and the would-be-victim get to theirs first. Let's say that the would-be-victim placed a few slugs into Mr. Gangster Thug Wannabe, but only incapacitates him.

Since he's still alive, he can still take some more punishment. Here is what should happen: Until the authorities arrive, that would-be-victim should be allowed to whatever they want to Mr. Gangster Thug Wannabe. Anything goes, and I mean absolutely anything.

Now the footage of some violent criminal being tortured by their would-be-victims would be more than worth airing on the evening news.

I am not talking about those censored, watered down, excuses that merely call themselves "raw footage," but rather the actual raw footage that uncensored and uncut. Oh, and make sure the kids are watching.

"Kids, if you want to resort to a life of violence and crime, this could happen to you too."

Keep in mind, I am not refering to vigilantes. That is a completely different subject.
