The Iron Mountain City Council will today at 6:30 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 501 S. Stephenson Ave. in Iron Mountain.
New business items on the agenda include street and parking lot closure for Zero Gravity action sports outreach motorcycle stunt show, request from the Dickinson County Board of Commissioners for endorsement regarding the 9-1-1 millage request, no charge for rental of the City Park Pavilion for the Golden K Special Needs Youth Picnic and establishing a public hearing for alley vacation request by Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
An executive session is planned to discuss collective bargaining.
The Kingsford City Council will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. instead of today due to the federal holiday marking Martin Luther King's birthday. The meeting will be held in the council room, which is located upstairs of the city hall building, 305 S. Carpenter Ave. in Kingsford.
The agenda for the meeting includes proposals for forest management services under old business. New business on the agenda includes requests for proposals (RFPs) for storm sewer separation study for Kingsford Heights, request to complete specifications and take bids for a Department of Public Works pickup truck, and renew performance resolution with MDOT for M-95 right-of-way.
The Norway City Council will meet today at 7 p.m. in the council room of the city hall building, 915 Main St. in Norway.
Agenda items include approval of an extension of the tax payment deadline to Feb. 28, resolution in support of the 911 millage, and resolution for defining a day of work or hours a month for MERS retirement purposes.
The Norway-Vulcan Area Schools Board of Education will meet today at 6:20 p.m. in the high school library.
An organizational meeting will be held at 6 p.m.
The board did not meet last week Monday due to not having a quorum for the meeting.
The Florence County School Board of Education will meet today at 5 p.m. in the Room 215 of the High School.
New business includes a request for a Spanish class field trip during the summer of 2014, purchase of used metal working equipment, computer purchases, open enrollment policy second reading, school board policy on IKF graduation requirements and advertising for the Chamber of Commerce visitor guide.
A closed session is also planned to consider a specific student matter, personnel, and staffing/contracts/compensation/performance.
