CRIVITZ, Wis. - Niagara, playing "consummate team basketball," slammed Crivitz 59-27 in M&O Conference boys action Tuesday.
Niagara, on the strength of a 22-2 third quarter, defeated Crivitz 65-34 in early December. The Badgers rolled 19-2 in the first quarter Tuesday.
"I expected this to be a five or six-point game," said Badgers coach Jim Hoogland, who didn't expect another big-quarter romp. "Crivitz is fourth in our conference.
"We cranked up the team defense for steals and lay-ups. We played great team ball all the way around. You can tell by the balanced scoring and defense. We communicated well."
Badgers' Jordan Zawada scored six of his game-high 16 points in the first quarter. Zach Walker chipped in 13; Joey Swanson, 11, and Colin Anderson, nine.
The Badgers (11-5 overall, 8-3 M&O), third in the league, travel to second-place Suring on Thursday.
Crivitz edged Niagara 36-32 in the junior varsity game.
