WAKEFIELD - No one was injured in a three vehicle accident Thursday in Ironwood Township.
The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Cedar Lane and Bluff View Road.
Troopers from the Wakefield post of the Michigan State Police said that 26-year-old David Sim of Ironwood was traveling south on Cedar Lane when he attempted to stop for a stop sign at Bluff View Road.
Sim was unable to stop and slid into the side of a westbound vehicle operated by 59-year-old Susan Lynn Williams-Reil of Bessemer.
Williams-Reil's vehicle then spun sideways and entered the path of an eastbound Gogebic County Sheriff's Department patrol vehicle.
Troopers said that Sim was cited for violation of basic law-causing an accident.
Sim's vehicle sustained moderate damage and was able to be driven from the scene. Williams-Reil's vehicle and the patrol vehicle had extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
