IRON MOUNTAIN -The second annual Iron Mountain Winter Farmers & Artisans Market takes place once again Saturday and continues through the second Saturday of April.
Iron Mountain Downtown Development Authority/Main Street will be hosting a Winter Farmers Market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Iron Mountain Public Schools Izzo-Mariucci Center, located at the intersection of West A Street and Carpenter Avenue.
"We appreciate working with farmers who are committed to educating the community and expanding their product line," noted volunteer Devona. "We are especially proud of Fred Hedmark who will be participating in a panel on maple syrup techniques on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Wild Rivers Interpretive Center in Florence and Wilson Creek for their purchase of hoop houses to help elongate their growing season."
"We want the public to know that even though the summer has ended, we still have products available and are always interested in providing for them year round," exclaimed Fred Hedmark, of Hedmark's Maple Syrup. "Many of our vendors put in long hours with their agricultural operations so the winter market has been helpful in allowing us to provide our products year round."
Vendors at the market include; Wilson Creek Gardens in Wilson; Hedmark's Maple Syrup in Florence; Wixtrom Natural Farms in Republic; Nancy Schaub Knitting, Cathy Swenski Art Creations, Mean Jean Mustard, Richard Trecartin Birdhouses, Joan's Deluxe Granola in Iron Mountain, Louis de Koster Bakery in Kingsford and Pleasant View Orchard & Bakery in Niagara.
The upcoming market dates include; March 9 and April 13.
