MARINETTE, Wis. - A Beecher, Wis. woman died Tuesday following a one-vehicle accident in the town of Niagara, Wis.
The crash occurred at 9:30 a.m. on County Road O at the Pemenee Creek Bridge.
Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve said that a four-door Jeep was traveling south when it impacted the bridge abutment.
All three occupants of the vehicle were transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
According to Sauve, the front seat passenger, 29-year-old Heather M. Vandenwildenberg of Beecher, died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver, 23-year-old Joshua E. Faccio of Pembine, Wis., and the back seat passenger, 21-year-old Timothy G. Thew of Niagara, were treated for non life-threatening injuries, said Sauve.
Sauve said that speeds too fast for the snow-covered roadway and no seat belt usage were believed to be factors in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
Sauve noted that this crash is the second fatality in Marinette County this year.
Assisting at the scene were the Pembine Rescue Squad, Pembine Fire Department, and Beacon Ambulance.
