THREE LAKES, Wis. - Florence, despite a second-half recovery, bowed to Three Lakes 59-47 in a WIAA Division 5 boys basketball regional opener.
The Bobcats trailed 38-16 at halftime but closed the deficit to 12 in the second half.
"We got off to a shaky start and they shot well," Florence Coach Tom Beck said. "We played pretty solid in the second half and outscored them 31-21."
Florence's Austin Herman, hampered by foul trouble, scored a game-high 24 points.
Three Lakes travels to Niagara on Friday for a regional semifinal.
