Burglary suspect in court

MARINETTE, Wis. - A Commonwealth, Wis. man accused of burglarizing buildings and storage units throughout the local area has accepted a plea deal on his Marinette County charges.

Johnathon Mark Plonty, 25, pleaded guilty to one felony count of burglary to a building or dwelling. An additional misdemeanor count of theft of movable property was dismissed, but read in for restitution purposes.

Sentencing is set for April 15 in Marinette County Court.

Plonty is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for his Florence County burglary charges.

In Dickinson County, Plonty is scheduled for sentencing on larceny charges on March 5.

During Plonty's sentencing hearing in Florence County Court, he admitted to stealing items from buildings he believed to be abandoned, storage units, and the House of Yesteryear museum between the summer of 2011 and May 2012.
