Kingsford competes in the MHSAA Division 3 regional.

Division 4 state meet begins at 1 p.m. (Central time) Saturday at the Delta Plex in Grand Rapids.

In the Division 3 regional at Rockford, Kingsford placed seventh with 696.90.

"We knew today was going to be a fight and that's what this team did all day," Flivver coach Sara Pericolosi said. "They never gave up and fought hard."

Kingsford finished less than 12 points behind the third and fourth-place teams.

"We had the highest score from our district which unfortunately left us short of qualifying," Pericolosi said.

Gladstone placed 11th with 666.70.

"We graduate two seniors who have been phenomenal leaders this year," Pericolosi said of Emily Tramontin and Britt Johnson. "I've never been more honored to coach a team. It is definitely a bittersweet end to the season as we came closer then we've ever been to qualifying."
