Ida A. Harrington

CRYSTAL FALLS - Ida A. Harrington, 89, of Crystal Falls, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.

She was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Eugene and Emma Bartolini.

Ida married Vernon Harrington on May 7, 1949, in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1986.

Ida worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell for many years.

She was a lifelong member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church and was a volunteer worker at St. Vincent de Paul.

Ida was an active bowler, enjoyed her ladies coffee klatch group, and most special to her was a love of playing board games with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Tom Harrington of East Lansing, Mich., James (Mary) Harrington of Escanaba, William Harrington of Ishpeming; five daughters, MaryAnn Harrington, Diane (Gary) Hilberg, both of Crystal Falls, Patricia Harrington of Marquette, Linda (Karl) Anderson of Mercer, Wis., Kathleen "Kathy" (Kelly) Stankewicz of Crystal Falls; one brother, Guido Bartolini of Pennsylvania; and nine grandchildren, Erin (fiance' Jon Pleaugh), Kim (Scott) Bjork, Sandy Orlowski, Kati Anderson, Nick Harrington, Carly Orlowski, Max Anderson, Kevin Stankewicz and Maria Stankewicz.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ida was preceded in death by one grandson, Jerame Harrington; and two sisters, Dora Hemeleski and Gilda Bartolini.

The visitation will be Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. Rev. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
