HOUGHTON - Three teens were injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on M-26 in Osceola Township, the Houghton County Sheriff's Office said.
The accident occurred at 3:45 p.m. (Eastern time) when a westbound vehicle driven by Stephanie Trezona, 19, of Hubbell, slid sideways on the slushy roadway into the path of an eastbound pickup truck driven by Ivan Tolley, 77, of Dollar Bay.
Trezona had to be extricated from her vehicle before being transported to Portage Health along with two passengers, 19-year-old Kayla Deroche and a 15-year-old female, deputies said. Trezona, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported to Marquette General for further treatment, they added.
Tolley escaped injury. The accident, which occurred near Woodside Location Road, remains under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor, deputies said.
