NEGAUNEE - Names of the two Bay City, Mich. residents accused of a home invasion/armed robbery incident on March 12 in Alger County's AuTrain Township have been released.
Richard Anthony VanPelt, 29, faces charges of home invasion-first degree, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, unlawful imprisonment, and armed robbery.
Samantha Jo Menerey, 20, faces charges of home invasion-first degree and armed robbery.
Both are being held at the Alger County Jail on $100,000 cash bonds.
They are scheduled for preliminary examinations in Alger County District Court on March 26.
VanPelt and Menerey are accused of entering a home on County Road 440 and assaulting the occupant, 19-year-old Allen Miron.
Miron was transported to Munising Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for injuries.
