Dolly Vivio

VULCAN - Dolly Vivio, 75, of Hamilton Lakes, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013, from complications of cancer at Belin Hospital in Green Bay, Wis., surrounded by her family.

She was born in July 1937 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of Lester and Lillian (DeClark) Struebing. She attended Iron Mountain area schools. Dolly worked in several area retail stores and retired in 1991.

Dolly married Ernest Vivio in December 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. They enjoyed 58 years together raising their family.

Dolly enjoyed knitting and crocheting, bowling, hunting, gardening, snowmobiling, and most of all caring for the needs of both her family and others.

Dolly is survived by her husband, Ernest (Ernie) of Hamilton Lakes; three sons, Ernest (Hilda) Vivio Jr. of Quinnesec, Jim (Carol) Vivio of Faithorn, and Gary (Deb) Vivio of North Dakota; three daughters, Linda Vivio of Norway, Susie (Mike) Grandaw of Pembine, Wis., and Karen (Keith) Dennis of Spread Eagle, Wis.; 16 grandchildren, Edward Vivio, Eric Vivio, Laura (Chris) Karle, Amber (Jason) Maahs, Heather (Tim) Schalk, Ashley Chounard, Stacy (Greg) Kaiser, Brenda (Colby) DalSanto, Nichole (Kenneth) Knight, Michelle (Reece) Young, Ryan Dennis, Mark Dennis, Matt Vivio, Melinda (Mike) Kortendick, Andy Vivio, and Kimberly Vivio; and nine great-grandchildren.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gerald Struebing; and her infant sister, Geraldine.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan, with a funeral Mass starting at 11 a.m. Fr. Timothy M. Ekaitis will officiate.

A luncheon will follow in the parish hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family will honor her memory with donations to charities she held dear and to cancer research at the request of her husband.
