DETROIT - The top accolades keep pouring in for Forest Park junior Lexi Gussert.
Gussert, already named U.P. Dream Team Class D Player of the Year and AP Class D Player of the Year, has now earned selection to the Detroit Free Press' All-State Dream Team.
"Getting selected to the dream team is an amazing honor," Gussert told the paper. "It is great to be recognized after putting so much work into something. The best accomplishment out of all this is being able to make your town proud."

Gussert, making Crystal Falls and other towns in the U.P. a travel destination for several NCAA Division I coaches, averaged 32.5 points per game this past season. She shot nearly 50 percent form 3-point range and averaged 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 4 blocks per game.
"Lexi is a great scorer, but her knowledge of the game as well as her court sense, her leadership, her mentioning of teammates and above all her passing skills are the intangibles that separate her from almost all other players," Lady Trojans head coach Jeff Syrjanen told the Free Press.
The area also saw a few other players recognized by the Free Press. Kingsford's Carlee Benzie was selected to the Class B fifth team. West Iron County's Kylee Erickson was a pick for Class C sixth team, and Norway's Bailey Grayvold earned honorable mention for Class C.
