IRON RIVER - A power outage at Ski Brule on Friday stranded several people on a chairlift for a short time.

West Iron County Fire Department Chief Al Perlongo said that a tree fell on a power line at about 11:15 a.m. and knocked out the power.

Perlongo added that the people on the chairlift were taken down a short time later. No one was injured.

Snow and high winds caused additional power outages in the Iron River area on Friday afternoon. At one point, more than 1,500 Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) customers in the area were without power.
