CEDARVILLE - A medical condition might be to blame in a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on M-134 near South Short Street in Mackinac County on Saturday.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police, St. Ignace Post were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic crash in Clark Township at approximately 1:37 p.m.
Investigation determined a westbound vehicle, driven by Joann Fountain, 66, of DeTour, Mich. crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound vehicle, driven by a 65-year-old male Cedarville resident.
Investigation indicates that possibly a medical condition caused Fountain to cross the centerline.
Fountain was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The Cedarville resident was transported to War Memorial Hospital by Clark Township ambulance, where he was treated and released.
Both drivers wear wearing seatbelts, and both vehicles had airbags deployed.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Mackinac County Sheriff's Office and Clark Township Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation.
