Sandy Corsi, Daily News Circulation Department co-manager, examines just some of the items available at The Daily News Newspapers in Education Rummage Sale today in Quinnesec.

The sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at 894 Colleen Circle Drive in Quinnesec

Items for sale include appliances, toys, DVDs, VHS, ceramic items, home decor, and lots and lots of books.

Signs will be put up in the area for those who need directions.

Christopher Ashburn, coordinator for The Daily News N.I.E. program, said this rummage sale is a way to connect with the community and raise money for N.I.E. to work toward raising literacy rates.

"People are encouraged to come check out our rummage sale and help support a great cause, while coming together as a community and showing their support for Newspapers In Education, as well as support for the youth in our area," Ashburn said.

All proceeds benefit Newspapers In Education, which is a non-profit program that works toward raising literacy rates in the local area by providing newspapers and other teaching resources to teachers and students in our communities.
