HOLLAND - Kristin Nelson made her closing statement of why she should be selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's most valuable field performer when she won her second individual event of the league championship meet.
A senior from Iron Mountain, Nelson sailed 36-feet- 2 to win the triple jump. She added the triple jump to the long jump title she claimed earlier.
Nelson also finished third with a school-record performance in the 100-meter hurdles to close the meet by scoring 26 of Albion's 61.5 points in the meet. Albion finished fourth in the team standings.
