Nobody in them

May 7, 2013
The Daily News

EDITOR:

I have noticed through the years that there are approximately nine hotels/motels here in town and most of the time the parking lots are nearly empty.

I also have observed that there are people who are very poor and I am sure homeless. I also know that there are veterans who migrate up to this area in order to be near the VA hospital as they are too poor to have regular retirement and health insurance.

I think that the hotels would do well to sell their "for profit" businesses to the Salvation Army or the Veterans Administration so that the homeless could permanently live there.

So many empty rooms here in town and nobody in them and so many poor people.
