"Dig In and Bike On" is Game's idea to get bike racks installed in the downtown area.

"I began working on this about a year ago and I am happy that it is now at a point where I can share it," she said. "It's a functional public art piece that I've also designed with the history of the Iron Mountain area in mind."

With input from representatives from the Dickinson County Bike Path Committee, Game designed a functional bike rack that depicts the shovel-pick-shovel design in the middle of two end caps.

"The design is reminiscent of the mining days of our city and the mountain shaped end-caps denote Iron Mountain,s rolling landscape," Game said. "Also cut into the end-cap is the name of our city, Iron Mountain."

Local metal fabricator Ronnie Bradke will be constructing Games' design.

The Northern Michigan Bank of Iron Mountain and Kingsford has donated enough funds to create one bike rack, and donations from Erickson's Jewelers, Don Khoury of the Wishing Well and 28 online backers are working towards funding more racks.

"We have one bike rack funded. Thanks to generous people, the original goal was reached in only 4 days but now there is a new goal. Let's go for two or more. Pledges can still be made," said Game.
