A TeenServe workcamp is coming to North Dickinson County and surrounding areas, including Crystal Falls June 23-29. TeenServe is part of Cross-Walk Ministries based in Holcombe, Wis.
It is a 501-C3 organization and is affiliated with the local Habitat for Humanity.
First and foremost I want to commend all the residents and businesses who have already contributed to our goal of raising $15,000 for the purchase of building and painting supplies needed for wheelchair ramps, steps and porch projects and painting and siding repairs. We are approximately half way to the goal and materials need to be ordered very soon. All donations remain in the local area.
Over 160 residents in the North Dickinson area have requested assistance, of which approximately 70-80 will be chosen to have repairs done depending on need and funds available.
A typical workcamp consists of 250 to 400 youth and adult leaders of church youth groups from around the midwest who join together for a week of hard work and personal growth.
All participants will be housed at the North Dickinson School, where they will also get to experience evening programs which include live worship bands, national Christian youth speakers and fellowship and service to others.
If you can help defray the costs of this life changing mission to hundreds of teens from around the Midwest and our local people who are in need of a helping hand, please send your donation to: TeenServe-Felch c/o First National Bank of Crystal Falls, North Dickinson Branch; PO Box 130 Sagola, MI 49831.
