Iron Mountain dumps Escanaba 6-2

IRON MOUNTAIN - Iron Mountain captured the final two singles matches and swept doubles to spill Escanaba 6-2 in high school boys tennis Monday at Amos Marston Eastside Courts.

"The guys showed real improvement," Mountaineer coach Greg Stegall said. "It was an excellent match to get ready for the Mid-Pens."

Iron Mountain (4-4) travels to Gwinn today and visits Ishpeming on Thursday for the Mid-Peninsula Conference meet.

Miners top Norway

NEGAUNEE - Norway suffered an 8-0 loss to Negaunee in high school tennis Monday.

"Negaunee is a tough team and the team played the best that they could," Knights coach Allison Maloney said.

The Knights play their final home match today, meeting Menominee at Marion Park.
