This is really an opinion.
I have had the opportunity to camp at the Veterans Camp Christine on Lake Mary in Iron County this past week, and came across a "grave" complete with marker for a former campground hostess.
I find this distasteful on so many levels.
Many members of the VFW and Legion, including my father Paul Anderson, Fred Boehmke, Wally Koski, Alton Beck, Walter Salin and scores of others as well as auxiliary members, put in many years, days and hours contributing to the building and maintaining of Camp Christine.
As a child I spent many hours on Lake Mary while my father was involved in some sort of activity at Camp Christine.
Wouldn't it be more fitting for a memorial to be erected in their honor?
