KINGSFORD - Mary Ann Maines, 93, of Kingsford, died at her home with her daughter beside her.
Mary was born on Jan. 18, 1920, in Schaeffer, Mich., the daughter of the late Victor and Angeline (Grimard) Auger.
For several years Mary owned and operated a nursing home and later worked at Pine Manor In Kingsford for 20 years. She was an active member of American Martyrs Catholic Church. She loved to dance and went at every opportunity. May was an exceptional seamstress, ceramist and cook. She was always ready and willing to help others, a true servant of people.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Miron and her daughters, Marianne, Catherine, Angeline, and Christina; her son, Fred Miron and his wife, Linda and their daughters, Jada, Audrey, Felecia, and Carmen; her daughter, Carol Schneider and her sons, Aaron and Benjamin; her son, Paul Miron; and a son, John Maines and his wife, Lisa and their daughters, Jeanette and Caroline. Mary also leaves many great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Irene Yirsa who lives in Lansing, Mich., with her family. They have had a special connection throughout their lives.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Kingsford Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Kingsford. Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in the Norway Township Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank Diana Newcomb and Norma Deau for all the love and kindness they extended to mom. Without them it is doubtful we would have been able to keep mom at home. We pray God will bless both of them.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Family Ties Adult Day Care Center in Iron Mountain.
