Florence County High School student Josh Bomberg, left, texts and drives in an AAA Wisconsin driving simulator as Scott Kastyl of Kastyl Insurance communicates with him through the device.

The program is designed to provide a better understanding on why people should not text and drive.

The student body and faculty watched 10-minute video on the dangers of texting and driving, and Florence Sheriff Jeff Rickaby, Scott Young from Kastyl Insurance Agency of Florence, and Linda Kempen from AAA Wisconsin all said a few words regarding the program.

Florence student Josh Bomberg came up and tried the driving simulator, and learned how difficult it is to text and drive.

The simulator was available afterwards for the students to use.
