MARINETTE, Wis. - More than 200 marijuana plants were seized and two suspects were arrested after a search warrant was executed at a residence in the town of Goodman, Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve announced.
Sheriff Sauve said that on May 31, with the assistance of the Marinette Police Department and Wisconsin Department of Justice agents, a search warrant was conducted at a residence in Goodman.
Some 279 marijuana plants, 24 ounces of processed marijuana, cash, firearms and two vehicles were seized.
Two suspects were arrested and lodge in jail, Sauve said. Arrested were Patrick L. Franklin, 55, and his son, Taylor G. Franklin, 23.
The seized plants were ready to be planted in the forest, Sheriff Sauve said.
The sheriff wants to alert the public to watch of illegal marijuana growing operations as people will be recreating in the forests and fields this summer and fall.
