IRON MOUNTAIN - Bradley Milton Maki, 56, of Iron Mountain, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10, 2013. at his home.

He was born June 16, 1956, in Ishpeming, son of Rudy and Ruth Maki. Bradley graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1974. He began his career working as a maintenance mechanic for M.A. Hanna Mining Co. at the Groveland Mine. After the mine closed, Bradley continued his maintenance mechanic career working for the city of Iron Mountain for 25 years, retiring in 2009.

Brad learned his trade at a young age by working with his father repairing old equipment at the family camp in Republic which he helped his father build. He spent many hours in his own garage working on cars and other vehicles for his family and friends. Brad had a big heart and was right there to help if you needed a hand. Whether it was a parent, brother, sister, niece or nephew he always kept in touch to see what was going on in their lives and to see if he could help out in any way. He cared deeply for his family and will be missed by family and friends.

Bradley enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. Brad was an avid Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan. He was also proud of his Finnish heritage and was a member of the Finnish American Club Raja Ryhma.

Bradley is survived by his parents, Rudy and Ruth Maki; one sister, Melanie (James) Olson; two brothers, Chris (Melanie) Maki and Rodney Maki, all from the Iron Mountain area; two nephews, Brandon (Alyssa) Maki and Korey (Amy) Maki; one niece, Elina Maki; and one great-niece, Halle Kate Maki.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain.

Funeral services will follow Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Rev. Lori Liverance will officiate.

Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
