Lawrence Formenti

IRON MOUNTAIN - Lawrence David Formenti, 89, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

He was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Angelo and Adeline (Franz) Formenti. Larry graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1941. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Larry served as an Escanaba police officer and was later employed by General Motors in Lansing, where he retired in 1981.

He enjoyed flying and was an experienced pilot. Larry also was a HAM radio operator.

He is survived by three sons, David Lee Formenti of Santa Cruz, Calif., Larry Formenti of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Randy Formenti of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Jill Formenti of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

No services will be held.

Burial will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
