FELCH - Young people from across the Midwest are volunteering in Dickinson and Iron counties this week as part of a TeenServe mission trip.

Several hundred teens and adult leaders are working during the day and returning each night to "camp" at North Dickinson School.

Some 50 to 80 homes in northern Dickinson County, eastern Iron County and the Iron Mountain-Kingsford area will receive free repair work and/or new steps or wheelchair ramps.

Evening activities feature ministry programs by youth evangelist Craig Smith and singer Phil Joel and his band Zealand.

"As a community you can watch for the cheerful groups of young people out and about helping different residents improve their homes," said Gail Robert, local TeenServe coordinator.
