IRON MOUNTAIN - The Daughters of Isabella Congress Circle 367 will be meeting at noon Thursday, July 11, for their annual picnic luncheon. They will meet in their regular meeting room at the I.C. Faith Formation Center.
Members are asked to bring a dish to pass. The officers will serve on the committee.
Games will be played.
All members are invited to attend and guests are welcome.
The June 6 meeting of the D of I Circle 367 was opened by Regent Marcene Fuse by welcoming all. The opening song was sung by the members.
Chancellor Louise Plante led the members in the opening prayer. The Charter was draped in memory of Mary VanGoethem who passed away on May 10. Prayers were said and "Oh What Could My Jesus Do More" was sung in her memory.
The Chancellor gave a reading on "Herod The Great." Herod did not know Jesus and it was unfortunate that he never really got to know the true Jesus.
The pledge to the flag and to the state of Michigan were led by the regent.
A letter was read from the state circle and a thank you note from the international secretary, Suzanne Suchy.
The Hail Mary prayer for June will be offered for the present members and for Cheryl Fuse.
Cards were sent to Msgr. Kaczmarek in honor of his 44th anniversary in the priesthood and to Fr. Mike Woempner on the death of his mother Dolly.
An upgraded booklet for the by-laws and constitution of the circles was received from the state.
June birthdays were recognized and the birthday song was sung.
The drill was had for the good of the order.
"Open My Eyes Lord" was sung and the closing prayer was led by Chancellor as the members held hands in unity as the D of I closing song was song.
Lunch was served by hostesses Lu Villa and Agatha Caviani followed by cards played with Marcene Fuse, first in push and Rose Dishaw, second.
