The Democratic Party welcomed gubernatorial candidate Mark Schauer to Dickinson County during a meet and greet at The White House Tavern and Grill in Iron Mountain this morning. Schauer of Battle Creek lower Michigan enters the campaign with experience in both the Michigan Legislature and the U.S. Congress. His wife, the former Christine Hooper, is a Negaunee High School graduate. Schauer has been endorsed in his run for governor by former U.S. Representative Bart Stupak and the state's Democratic U.S. senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow.
