IRON MOUNTAIN - Several area communities will continue Fourth of July celebrations this weekend with parades, picnics and fireworks.
Independence Day festivities in Sagola will be held today.
Festivities kick off with a parade at 2 p.m.
This year's parade theme is TV shows, which includes game shows and sitcoms.
Prizes will be awarded for most patriotic, commercial and best theme.
Line-up for the parade is on Turner Road.
Food and beverages will be provided at the annual baseball game held at the Channing baseball field.
Fireworks will be lit at dusk.
Hermansville will hold July 4 celebrations today at the Hermansville Lake & Park from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The parade will begin at 10 a.m. Line up and registration begins at 9 a.m. on Earle Drive at Stewart Manufacturing's driveway.
Games for all ages start after the parade.
The 13th Annual Hermansville Car Club show, held next to the IXL Historical Museum, will start at 8 a.m. with registration.
A food and refreshment stand at the Hermansville Park and Lake on Saturday is part of the community's July 4 celebration.
Area fire departments will have water fights.
Also on the grounds will be a fireman's competition, children's games and the Abracadabra Bounce House.
The day's events are sponsored by the Floriano-Stecker American Legion Post No. 340 and the William Anderson Sport and Recreation Club, who have worked together for nearly 40 years promoting the annual July 4 celebration.
Evening fireworks are sponsored by the Meyer Township Volunteer Fire Department.
No carry-ins allowed.
The 42nd Vulcan-Norway-Loretto Lions Club Annual Community Picnic will be held on Sunday.
This year's picnic will be held at Marion Park across from the Dickinson County Fairgrounds starting at 11 a.m.
There is food, refreshments and entertainment for all ages. Horseshoe players will be there ready for competition at around 1 p.m.
The Norway City Band will again be on the agenda to do some entertaining for the audience.
The menu includes grilled chicken, brats, hot dogs, ice cream, pop, bottled water, beer and wine coolers.
Organizers ask that attendees bring chairs to put under tents to help with seating.
The Northwoods Garden Club will be holding its Annual Strawberry Social on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Gazebo Park, Woodward Ave., Kingsford.
Sundaes made with locally grown strawberries will be provided, along with entertainment by the Golden Throats.
SPREAD EAGLE, Wis.
A special Badwaters Ski-Ters show will be held at 9 p.m. today. There is no show Sunday. Shows are held rain on the shores of Badwater Lake at Vagabond Park off U.S. 2 in Spread Eagle, Wis. Admission is free.
The 7th Annual Family Fest will be held at the Goodman Township Park on Lake Hilbert today.
A flag retirement ceremony will be presented by the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary at 1 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their worn out flags.
Hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, nachos and cheese, walking tacos, beer, soda and water will be served.
Drawings, games and face paintings for kids are part of the festivities.
Fireworks, sponsored by the town of Goodman, will begin at dusk.
An annual sticker for the Goodman Park is $10 per vehicle.
Those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food item for donation to the local food pantry.
The Wausaukee Fourth of July celebration will be today with a parade beginning at 1 p.m. behind Bank North.
North Country Kickers and John Guarisco DJ will perform from noon to 5 p.m.
Darryll's Trout Pond, Legion Beer Garden, Wausaukee Lions food booth and numerous crafters and vendors are also part of the festivities.
The annual Wausaukee Independence Day Celebration and Firecracker 5K Run/Walk will be held today. The 5K run/walk is at 8 a.m. and the parade starts at 1 p.m.
Youth baseball bouncers, playground, meat drawing, food and beverages will be provided at Steven Stumbris Memorial Park on Fairgrounds Road. Music will feature Logan Gruszynski from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Daze 2 Nites from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Fireworks are at dusk.
