IM standout to run for Tech

HOUGHTON - Iron Mountain High School graduate Daniel Kulas has signed a National Letter of Intent to join Michigan Tech University's cross country and track & field teams, head coach Joe Haggenmiller announced.

Kulas was a two-time U.P. champion in the 2013 meet, taking the 1600 (4:42) and 3200-meter (10:15) runs. He finished sixth in the 3,200 at the state meet as a junior.

Running for the Kingsford High School co-op team, Kulas finished second at the U.P. cross country meet. He competed at the U.P. cross country meet four times, finishing third as a junior, 23rd as a sophomore and 41st as a freshman.
