GREENLEAF, Wis. - Debra J. Olsen, 58, of Greenleaf, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home.
She was born Jan. 13, 1955 in Monterey Park, Calif., the daughter of Leonard and Virginia (Sironen) Bietila. The family moved to Iron Mountain in 1969 and Debby graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1973. She married Kim Olsen on Dec. 8, 1973 at the First Covenant Church in Iron Mountain. They lived in Colorado for a number of years before moving back to Iron Mountain for a few years. They then moved to the Green Bay, Wis., area in 1993.
Debby had a saving relationship with Jesus, was a member of the Spring Lake Church in Green Bay and a prayer warrior. Debby was an AWANA leader and Sunday School teacher for years. Debby was active in 4H and the Brown County Fair. She loved music and was very talented at playing several instruments including the violin and piano. She liked arts and crafts, and enjoyed sewing. She was active in sports, playing tennis, volleyball and golf. She was also an avid gardener. Debby was very motherly and loving, and she cherished all of her relationships.

Debby is survived by her husband, Kim; five children, Penny (Jon) VanderPol of Maribel, Wis., Jerod (Abigail) Olsen of Saumico, Wis., Polly Olsen of Greenleaf, Ben (Kelsey) Olsen of Greenleaf, and Bret Olsen of Greenleaf; her parents, Len and Gina Bietila of Iron Mountain; one brother, Leonard III (Julie) Bietila of Norway; three sisters, Cindy (Mark "Skip") Swan of Wyoming, Sandy (Dean) Norlin of Oregon, and Patty (Kevin) Hooper of Ishpeming; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Samantha, Brianna, Sabrina, Hannah, Justin, Simon and Natalie; her mother-in-law, Judy Olsen; a sister-in-law, Beth (Bob) Swanson of Iron Mountain; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Spring Lake Church in Green Bay. Funeral services will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Spring Lake Church. Rev. Gene Heacock will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain.
Burial will be in Homestead-Aurora Cemetery.
