IRON MOUNTAIN - Trial dates have been set for an Iron Mountain man who is charged with assault by strangulation and delivery of marijuana.

Kenneth John Blomquist, 47, will go to trial for assault by strangulation on Oct. 10-11 and on Oct. 28-29 for two counts of delivery of marijuana and maintaining a drug house.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Judge Mary B. Barglind is presiding over the case.

Blomquist is being represented by attorney Scott Brogan of Marquette.

According to the felony complaint, on April 11 of this year, Blomquist went to the female victim's house because he was upset over some text messages.

When he entered the house, he began to yell and threaten the victim. Blomquist grabbed the victim by the throat and strangled her until the victim had trouble breathing, the complaint alleges. Redness around her neck was observed and she went to the hospital for treatment.

According to the felony complaint, the drug charges stem from Blomquist allegedly selling one-eighth of a bag of suspected marijuana to a confidential informant on Jan. 23 and one-fourth of a bag of suspected marijuana to a confidential informant on Jan. 17. The defendant allegedly sold both bags for $50 each.
