Walter Mattison

PEMBINE, Wis. - Walter "Sonny" Mattison, 72, of Pembine, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Norway on Oct. 11, 1940, son of Walter and Esther (Gustafson) Mattison. He graduated from Amberg High School.

Sonny loved to hunt and fish in his younger years and also flew airplanes. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Sonny was an iron worker by trade and was also a logger for more than 30 years. He will be missed.

Sonny is survived by his children, Steven (Teresa) Mattison and Michelle (Anthony) Holland; stepchildren, Gladys (Jerry) Ehn and Terrance (Mary) Barrette; and one granddaughter, Addison.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Messar-Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee, Wis., with Pastor Don Landwehr officiating.

Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
