The fire at Stone Road Coffee & Decor, located at 400 West U.S. 2, started at approximately 9 p.m.

Norway Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Patrick Siegle said that the blaze was initially reported by a Michigan State Police trooper who was passing by the location.

"Our crews made quick entry and knocked the fire down," said Siegle.

Firefighters were on scene for about two hours.

According to Siegle, the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.

No one was in the business when the fire began, and there were no injuries.

Siegle noted that the building is not a total loss.

"There's extensive damage to the first floor and heat and smoke damage to the second,' he explained.

Assisting at the scene was North Alert Ambulance.

Stone Road Coffee & Decor opened in 2008 in order to provide specialty coffee drinks, home decor, and gifts to the Norway area.
