FLORENCE, Wis. - An Illinois man was injured but his 2-year-old daughter was unharmed in an all-terrain vehicle accident Sunday in Fern Township, the Florence County Sheriff's Office said.

Randal Freeman, 24, of Wonder Lake, Ill., was operating his ATV at the intersection of Turtle Creek Lane and Boat Landing Road shortly after 3:30 p.m. when the mishap occurred, said Sheriff Jeff Rickaby. Freeman was unfamiliar with the trail and a rounded a corner and drove up a steep dirt embankment and rolled over, Rickaby said.

His daughter, who was a passenger, escaped injury. Both Freeman and his daughter were wearing proper safety equipment, the sheriff said.

Freeman was transported by Florence Rescue Squad to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for treatment of chest and shoulder injuries.
