EAGLE RIVER, Wis. - Kingsford notched a pair of soccer wins here Saturday, shutting out Northern Pines 2-0 and defeating Three Lakes 4-1.

Collin Hirthe and Austin Crosson scored goals in Kingsford's win over Northern Pines.

"It was a really good team win against Northland Pines," Flivvers coach Alex Milinski said. "They are a good organized team, and it took a lot of work to break them down."

A through ball from Crosson was finished low into the right corner by Hirthe for the first goal, scored before halftime.

"It was important that we pressed on and finished out the half without conceding a goal," Milinski said.

Early in the second, Brett Milinski played a ball out to Crosson who continued his run in to the box beating a few defenders and finishing.

"We got the goals we needed and ended up running out the second half being organized and disciplined defensively," Milinski said. "It is not the most entertaining way to play the game, but we got the goals we needed and then made some adjustments to make sure we would see out the game."

Crosson, Austin Person, Brett Milinski and Hirthe provide the scoring in the victory over Three Lakes.

"It was another good team performance against Three Lakes and everyone on the team got a lot of game time experience," Milinski said. "I was really impressed with everyone's contributions."

Crosson, off a throw from Zac Stankevich, hit the first tally. Person made it 2-0 in the first half, converting a penalty kick. After the break, Brett Milinski was assisted by Hirthe for the third goal. Hirthe's marker came off an assist from Crosson.

Kingsford (6-1) heads to Marquette Tuesday.

"We are really looking forward to Tuesday night," Milinski said. "It should be a really good indication of the progress we have made so far this season."
