ESCANABA - The Annual Upper Peninsula Senior Convention will be held at the U.P. State Fairgrounds in Escanaba on Thursday, Sept. 26.
This year they are featuring "U.P. Seniors Got Talent!"
The event will include fun, food, information, entertainment, and health screenings. The convention is being co-sponsored by UPCAP Services, Inc., the annual coordinator of this event, and Marquette General Health Systems, a Duke LifePoint Hospital.
The morning's activities will include informational exhibits, health screenings, raffles, glamour shots, bingo with cash prizes, and a silent auction. Exhibitors will provide free blood pressure checks, oxygen testing, and other health screening. Flu and pneumonia vaccines will also be available for a fee.
The afternoon's general session will feature Dr. William Hook. They are also sponsoring a U.P. Senior Talent Contest showcasing some of the most talented seniors performing for their peers. Anyone interested in performing at the convention should contact UPCAP for a registration form.
The convention registration fee is $7 per person and will include information, activities, entertainment, and dinner.
