DUNBAR, Wis. - Northland International University dropped three of four women's volleyball matches last weekend.
The Pioneers (7-4 overall record) bowed to heralded UW-Marathon County (25-14, 25-19, 22-25, 25-10) and UW-Washington County (25-14, 25-23, 25-19) on Friday, and suffered a loss to Moody Bible Institute (25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 26-24) in the first match Saturday.
NIU came back with a win over Dayspring (25-16, 25-19, 25-19).
Twenty-one hitting errors subdued NIU in the Marathon match.
Losing to regional opponent Moody Bible Institute "was a bit challenging to deal with," NIU Coach Dave Herron said.
"We had a chance to take control of this match," he said. "This would have put us in a good position for our regional seeding, but we didn't."
Hanna Cole's 15 kills, 2 aces and 9 digs along with Valerie Stauff's 11 kills and 3 blocks triggered NIU in the Dayspring match.
NII travels to UW-Marinette on Tuesday, Mount Mary College on Thursday and the MBI Archer Invite on Friday and Saturday.
